Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" to be released
Nowadays Iranian translator and editor Abdullah Anvar is busy rendering Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" from its English version which was translated by Norman Kemp Smith. He has edited Avicenna's The Book of Healing as well however no publisher is accepting to release it due to its size.

Veteran Iranian translator and codicologist talked to IBNA about the books he is translating and researching saying these days I am busy translating Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason". The book was previously translated by Shams Uddin Soltani from its German text into Persian.

He added:" Kemp Smith is not only a translator but also one of the noted explainers of Kant. His translation holds the descriptions of Kant's ideas as well; an explanation which is indeed more complicated than Kant's text. The book is Kant's significant books which is still influencing west's thoughts."

Talking about his previous translation he added:" I translated Henri Bergson's The Evolution of Life some 30 years ago which was published in Iran as well. Moreover I have translated "Frontiers of Knowledge" with Ahmad Aram and Amir Hussein Aryan-pour which was released by Franklin publications."

In other news he added:" I am translating "The description of Urmawi periods by Mobarak Shah Bokhari". The book will be released by the Academy of Arts and most probably will be presented at Tehran International Book Fair.

Safi al-Din al-Urmawi was a renowned musician and writer on the theory of music. He is perhaps best known for developing in the thirteenth century the widely used seventeen-tone scale later expanded to the Arabic scale of twenty-four quarter tones. Al-Urmawi's most important works are two books in Arabic Language on music theory, the Kitab al-Adwār and Risālah al-Sharafiyyah. Several descriptions were written on the books."

In other news, talking about the books which he is editing he added:" I have edited and explained the 22 vol. collection of Avicenna's The Book of Healing but the publishers aren't willing to release it due to its size."

Abdullah Anvar teaches about indexing manuscripts and different kind of papers at Iranology Foundation.
