The Turkish translation of Avicenna’s Kitab al-Shifa was recently published by Litera Publications in Turkey, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Monday.
The
233-page book was translated by Umar Turker and includes several chapters of
al-Shifa and an introduction in which the status of Avicenna and his influence
on the world are discussed.
Kitab
al-Shifa, which means the “Book of Healing”, is a vast philosophical and
scientific encyclopedia.
Litera
plans to publish more chapters of the book in Turkish in the future.
The
translator made use of works by writer Mohammad Al-Khadiri and books from the
Aya Sofia and Jarallah libraries in Turkey.
