Hadad-adel: The light of philosophy wasn’t ever blown out in Iran

During the press conference of the World Philosophy Day Conference the chairman of the session, Gholam-ali Hadad-adel said:" The light of philosophy wasn’t ever blown out in Iran and since 1200 years ago researching in the filed of Islamic philosophy is considered as a continuous tradition in Iran."

 

 

The press conference of World Philosophy Day was held today morning, Sunday October 24, in Iran's Philosophy Institute with the attendance of the conference's chairman, Dr. Gholam-ali Hadad-adel, the scientific secretary, Dr. Gholamreza Avani and the conference's executive secretary, Hussein Iman Khoshbou.

 

As the session launched Hadad-adel said:" The suggestion of holding the conference in Iran was presented to UNISCO some 2 years ago. The World Philosophy Day Conference will open on November 21 in National Library and Archives of Iran and will conclude on November 24.

 

He said that the conference will be held in order to develop the level of philosophy and added:" The event will provide a great opportunity to introduce Iran's philosophical thoughts and achievements to foreign philosophers."

 

He went on to say that since many years ago Iran was the center of philosophy and intellectual in the Islamic World as the greatest Islamic philosophers raised form Iran. The light of philosophy wasn’t ever blown out in Iran and since 1200 years ago researching in the filed of Islamic philosophy is considered as a continuous tradition in Iran.

 

He went on to say that during the Supreme Leader's trip to Qom and his speech in the seminary he several times emphasized on philosophy which indeed reveals that philosophy has a great place in Iran.

 

He added that the congress will be held with the central theme of ‘Philosophy, Theory, and Practice’.

 

As 13 sideline sessions will be held in the session he added that the meetings will be held on "Philosophy history", "Moralities", "The differences of cultures", "The culture of peace", "Religion and spirituality", "politics", "Science and technology", "Daily life", "The public territory", "Arts and literature", "Family, children and teenagers", "Environment" and " The philosophy of future".

 

Many articles have been sent to the conference's secretariat and dozens of philosophy professors from different continents and countries will participate whose articles are being assessed.

 

Moreover A'vani said that since four years ago every year concurrent with the fair a conference was held in Iran in which a noted philosophy professor was commemorated in the 2nd day. During the first 3 years Dr. Mohsen Jahangiri, Dr. Karim Modtahedi, and Dr. Reza Davari were honored. Last year the conference was held in Hamedan and 4 gold symbols of Avicenna were donated to Dr. Seyyed Hussein Nasr, Ayatullah Javadi Amoli as well as Dr. Ali akbar Velayati.

 

Moreover he said that cooperating with UNESCO a new filed of Ethics Philosophy was established in the Philosophy of Institute.

 

Furthermore Imani Khoshbou said that the conference is the greatest international event which is held in Iran in the filed of thought.

 

Iran's national library and archives will host the session while it is the 1st Asian host.
